Psychometrist
Sharon Reichstein is a passionate Special Education Teacher with more than 20 years of experience teaching in the classroom. Sharon earned her Bachelor of Arts from Western University. She also holds a Developmental Services Worker diploma from Algonquin College, as well as a Bachelor of Education from the University of Ottawa, with a specialty in Special Education. Most recently, Sharon earned her Psychometric Level B Assessment Designation from Yorkville University and is registered as a psychometrist with the Ontario Association of Mental Health Professionals (OAMHP).
Sharon has worked extensively with children with learning disabilities and understands the complexities involved with having a child who struggles academically and/or socially. She believes that every student can succeed to the best of their abilities if given the proper supports. Currently, Sharon is the part time Director of Special Education at an Ottawa private school, and has experienced first-hand the positive impact that a Psychoeducational Assessment can have on a child's success at school.
Sharon joins Borovay Psychological Services as a psychometrist, working under the supervision of Dr. Lindsay Borovay. This role aligns with her belief that understanding a learner's strengths and weaknesses enables students, parents, and educators to provide and implement the best possible supports at home and in the classroom to help set them up for success. Sharon is an optimistic, caring, and compassionate teacher who advocates for the success of all students.
