LINDSAY BOROVAY, PH.D., C. PSYCH.

Psychologist and Clinical Director

Dr. Lindsay Borovay received her Bachelor's Degree (Honours) from Queen's University and her Master's Degree and Ph.D., from McGill University. She has worked both within the hospital and school setting. Her previous work experiences at the Sir Mortimer B. Davis Jewish General Hospital and the Children’s Hospital of Eastern Ontario (CHEO) have provided extensive experience working with children, adolescents, and families dealing with various psychological and social-emotional difficulties. Dr. Borovay has also worked at the Lester B. Pearson School Board in Montreal where she provided assessment, intervention, counselling and consultation to teachers, parents, and students at both the elementary and high school levels.

Dr. Borovay has been working within the private practice setting since 2008 and enjoys working collaboratively with her clients in a supportive environment. She believes in the importance of first understanding the client’s experience to identify the underlying and unmet need, before moving toward shifting behaviour. She hopes that through developing a greater awareness of the positive impact strong relational bonds have on a child's neurological, social and emotional development, parents can shift their approach to first understanding and "sitting" with their child's emotional experience, before reacting to the observable behavior. Through skills training, the development of coping strategies, and through developing greater insight and self-awareness, her clients will experience improvement in their relationships and day-to-day functioning.

Dr. Borovay maintains memberships in national, provincial, and local psychological associations and keeps up to date on current developments in the field by regularly attending post-graduate educational workshops and lectures.
