Psychotherapy and Counselling

We work with individual clients and, when appropriate, their families to provide support and treatment. Counselling and therapy encompass various techniques that are used to address specific concerns (these techniques are dependent on the practitioner's theoretical perspective and previous training and experience). We use an integrative approach that draws from cognitive-behavioural therapy, systems and psychodynamic perspectives, acceptance and commitment therapy, emotion-focused therapy, Supportive Parenting for Anxious Childhood Emotions (S.P.A.C.E.), as well as solution-focused therapy.
Psychotherapy is a form of treatment for many common disorders including, but not limited to:
anxiety
depression
obsessive-compulsive disorder
stress management
adjustment disorders (including children and adolescents' adjustment to separation and divorce)
interpersonal problems
parent-child relational issues

We strive to apply the best evidenced-based care to meet the individual needs of our clients. The length of treatment is dependent on many factors including, but not limited to, the complexity of the issues at hand, the client's ability to apply the strategies and themes discussed in sessions to their day-to-day lives, and their level of insight and motivation, and therefore varies from client to client.Therapeutic services range from coaching sessions to short-term and long-term therapy.
Our therapeutic services are available for children, adolescents, adults, and parents.
